Here after watching the Defunctland video on Disney Animatronics. It's amazing that the original ride is archived online.

This ride used to be my worst nightmare but now I’m literally obsessed with it

Disturbing fact: having already cost as much as the rest of the park combined to build, the bones were instead sourced from the University of California, and were REAL human remains.

What's so great about this video is how it showcased all the animatronics and the sequence of their skits. You would never get a YT video edited like this.

So nice to see the original version that I first saw in 1969 at 9 years old, and several times after.

Ah, so glad to have gotten to see this version of the ride three or four times in my life before modernity got a'hold of it. ^_^

It blows my mind they did this in 1967, really impressive animatronics!

I grew up going to Disneyland frequently. This was my favorite ride. I went on it again a few years ago, and almost cried when I saw how it's been ruined. The Disneyland I grew up with is long gone.

2 pirates in this ride resemble Captain Hook and Mr. Smee from Peter Pan.

I wish they brought back the original pirate captain in the fort scene again with Paul Frees’ voice, but I’m glad they got rid of the Davy Jones projector in steam over our heads and replaced back to Paul Frees, J Pat O’Malley and Imagineer responsible for writing both the script and song “Yo Ho (A Pirates Life for Me)” and also provided some of the voices X. Atencio’s ghost voices in the cave back in the ride. So it’s almost like the ‘67 version. Can’t wait to go in November!

Voice acting for the animatronics is absolutely amazing. I also miss how older children's media wasn't afraid to be a little raunchy and adult-ish

I love the movies, but I kind of wish they'd kept the ride as it was. Jack and Barbosa just feel kind of shoehorned in.

I hope the people in this video got to ride through another time after this without all these lights being on lol. Unless they were meant to be on

I remember going on this ride in 2005 before they added Jack Sparrow. I would've been ten at the time.

So the pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney came before the pirates of the Caribbean movie?....
