I rake weekly in the summer and then I go down to one feeder in the Winter so I hope that helps. I intend on buying the tray that you put under the feeder to catch feed droppings during black Friday sales

I use tray feeders and put limited amounts of seed on the ground so that by dark there is no seed. And if the trays are empty during the day and the birds see me, they let me know. But there is still some seed in then grass. One morning, when i went out, there was a raccoon raking his fingers through the grass and finding some sunflower seeds.
