Look at all the seals laughing. Ellen Degeneres new special "For Your Approval" just dropped and it's already getting battered. People are calling it painfully unfunny and a last-ditch effort to save her reputation after the truth came out about her. She starts off by saying she was kicked out of show business which ironic since she’s literally saying this in her Netflix stand up special, one for she’s probably getting paid major bank for. She also tried very hard to turn the narrative and use the contraversy as a joke saying

I've never given the slightest crap about her actual comedy, I do remember a few times on the talk show where she kinda had a screwed-up demeanor for no apparent reason like she was aggravated at ya or some kind of microvendetta lol. If you’re not self-aware and become self-obsessed, thinking you’re always right, life can take a bad turn. She had all the money to hire great comedy writers and probably did, but her belief that she could do no wrong might have blinded her. She likely edited out anything that didn’t reflect how great she wanted to appear.

I never liked her much—she always seemed a bit mean—but her downfall still makes me sad. There’s a lesson here: if we act like we’re the best and ignore reality, we might not recover when things go wrong. An honest apology and admitting mistakes can fix a lot, but an inflated ego can stop someone from doing that, dragging them down even further.
