This problem may seem simple in hindsight BUT what really matters is thinking like a mathematician and finding the correct methodology. Once the correct methodology is found, the actual working out is simple. I love your videos tecmath.

Solved with the power of matrix algebra lol. Starting from top row left to right. Then bottom row left to right. ( 7/2, 9/2, 19/2, 7/2). Did it before I watched the video. Loved it :)

It can be solved also like that :-
We have
A + B = 8
B + D = 8
This means that A = D
And
C - D = 6
So
C = 6 + D = 6 + A
And
A + C = 13
So
2A + 6 = 13
Firstly, we can find A' s value then we move to others

By calling the numbers the same way :
A + B = 8 ; D + B = 8
So A = D
Then C - D = 6
So C = D + 6 = A + 6
Finally A + C = 13
So 2A + 6 = 13
We can solve for A and the other numbers can be found very easily

I knew A = D as they both produce 8 when added with the same constant B, so C - A = 6 AND C + A = 13. This indicates that C is an equal distance from 6 and 13, so I found the average of those two numbers and found C = 9.5. Plug that in and the rest is easy (A = 3.5 = D, B = 4.5).

Number squares abc&d.

A& D are the same, call this x

C-x = 6. C+x = 13 13-6=7 7/2 =3.5

A&D = 3.5 B = 4.5 C = 9.5.

I solved this question 4 days back, but took 30min 😣.
After solving this I realized it hardly take 5min😊

When looked into the problem, thought it will take long time and difficult!!
But, could solve it in just 5-10 minutes!!

In a matrix notation:
upleft = bottomright = 7/2
upright = 9/2 bottomleft = 19/2

Well top left and bottom right have to be the same => add to 13 subtracts to 6 => hang on parity is messed up => oh doi fractions. So 9.5, 4.5, 3.5, 3.5 - that one wasn't too bad.

Just use Gaussian Elimination, keeping in mind you have equations, with x1, x2, x3, and x4

A+B+C-D=14 and A+B+C+D=21. Therefore D=3.5 then you can work out B and C. Lastly you find A.

I found another solution: As x + y = 8, but also y + z = 8, then x = z. Therefore, we can replace also x + k = 13 and k - x = 6. So we easily find that k = 19/2. After a few substitutions, we find that: x = z = 7/2; y = 9/2 and k = 19/2. Correct! We may check:  7/2 + 9/2 = 8; 7/2 + 19/2 = 13; 19/2 - 7/2 = 6; 9/2 + 7/2 = 8

You have
A+B=8
A+C=13
B+D=8
C-D=6
You just have to do
(A+B) + (A+C) - (B+D) - (C-D)= 8+13-8-6
You get 2A=7 so A=7/2 then you get B, C, D by resolving basic equations
