This is a new harbor freight 2 ton floor jack, normally costs 30 bucks. Ok for lifting sedans, not anything taller.

I really thought the "fail" in the title meant the jack failed but it really didn't. The jack did what it was supposed to do. I'm happy with my purchase of the same jack.

...i think the operator failed, not the jack!

The user definitely failed. Jack did just fine

Put the jack under the lower A-arm from the front of the vehicle and it should lift it quite nicely. Then use a jack stand under the point your were originally lifting from for safety. The same thing goes for lifting the rear. Hope this helps! Take care, G.

I've had one like that for over 20 years..I keep it lubed and replaced the jack oil with ATF, which also makes it usable at sub 0 °F temps..

Mine works like a charm. I keep it in my trunk for flat tires. Doesn't take up hardly any room and it a far sight better than the scissors jack (piece of crap) that came with the car.

If having to remove a tire, most often you should lift the vehicle under the control arm ( I own 4x4 trucks and so the jack goes under the rear or front axle) so the tire almost instantly starts to raise off of the ground once you started pumping the jack. If you lift the vehicle under it's body, this will most often just lift the body up while the suspension/axle/tire will just keep relaxing down thus doesn't lift off of the ground or will only lift very little off of the ground

for all you cheap jack haters, this jack is fine, no issues at all. ENJOY!!!

Don’t complain about the amount of force you need to push the handle. The length is smaller than most jacks, therefore you need to apply more force to apply the same amount of torque. If you want it to be easier extend the handle

I think the downvotes are the clickbait title and the shaky camera. But actually this is very good information for youngsters (or anyone) looking to buy their first diy garage tools. Sure I know now, but I once bought larger jack stands thinking only that they'd be safer - only to find that the jack I already owned wouldn't lift the car high enough to even slide the new stands under. So when you're just starting out these things might not be so obvious. As you say these jacks can still have their uses.

Did you not add oil to the jack first? just wondering if you just pulled out of the box and used it.

I have the same jack for about 7 years now with no problems at all with it, harbor freight $29.99 go get one there good for the price.

The jack is OK, while it works, ... you just need to buy one that goes up enough for the height of the vehicle you plan to used it on. The piece of wood would do the job for around a 2" extra lift. Regardless the above, beware: I had this same jack and used it about 10 times. Worked fine until the last time, when one of the metal supports (arms) that hold it up just twisted and the car dropped! So, I am sad to say that this item is quite dangerous.

This should really just be in the vehicle to change flats. If people want one for their garage then get the 1.5 ton or 3 ton floor jacks.. This isnt meant as a main jack..

*I just bought this jack. The rod seems very small. It takes alot of pressure to pump the rod and lift the car. Almost seems it cannot do the job.*

You need the larger trolley jack for the larger & heavier vehicle, it’s not safe to use that size jack for a jeep or van using a piece of wood on top at all .

Use a 2x4 under the jack and throw a jack stand under their, that's what a floor jack like that is for.

I seen fail in the title and thought it failed and got stuck or something broke.. it didn’t fail at all from the looks of it..

Can you place underneath a 3 ton jack stand having a height of 330 mm with this floor jack. Waiting for your updated video since many weeks.
