A few weeks before the premiere to House of the Dragon Season 2 and well into the show, George put out a series of blog posts that may have hinted he was unhappy with the finished product. Fans have tried to connect the dots here but is there anything to it?

House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal for HBO. It is a prequel to the television series Game of Thrones and is based on Martin's 2018 novel Fire & Blood. Set two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the "Dance of the Dragons", and the war itself. The main contenders are Houses Targaryen, Hightower, Stark, Baratheon, Arryn and Velaryon.

Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Based on the fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. The series is set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, and interweaves several plot lines with a large ensemble cast. The first narrative arc follows a civil conflict among several noble houses for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms; the second covers the attempts to reclaim the throne by the exiled last scion of the realm's deposed ruling dynasty; the third chronicles the rising threat of the impending winter, the legendary creatures and fierce peoples of the North.

I’d say you and preston were on the money when you guys talked about the issues in season 1, that was the biggest red flag like the wedding but performances like Viserys were so good it hid the holes. But this season the best scenes all involved Aegon but not enough to cover the plot holes imo

Sara Hess has written two of the most disliked episodes of the show. Episode 9 of the first season and this final episode of the second season. I'm not sure she's a net positive for the show.

My big bother with HOTD is not the lack of battles, not even that much about character agency or consistency.
My gripe is that dragons have been used as props, key jangling and transport, not living beings, and that the ONLY emotional scenes we got on Dragons and Riders were 3 seconds before Meleys and Sunfyre died, and Seasmoke sniffing out a man.
Ur telling me that Rhaenyra never has talks with Syrax? That Daemon just parked Caraxes outside like a scooter? That Jayce or Haelena do not hang out with their most beloved companions?
It's as if the writters don't have pets

This season should have been the rises and falls of Jace and Aegon. Jace coming into his own as a great potential ruler by forming alliances in the north and making the important decisions that lift up team black. And Aegon accepting his fate and learning to become a good king despite being a shitty person. Then you can "ned stark" jace at the gullet and spirit away aegon after Aemond's betrayal. It would be in classic GoT style audience betrayal.

I've read the books and still enjoy the show and the unique twists and personalities of the characters. George RR Martin is a genius. People are too purist about what they love and expect from adaptations. History will be kind to this fantastic series.

I think a key issue is where the screen-time has been allocated. Blood and Cheese for example ignoring the bad changes made there we can't actually see any real long term difference in Helena pre and post it because a lot of the screen-time has gone to the wrong places.
