yeah. as a hawaiian here’s what happened:

so basically the us rolled up one day and locked the queen in the castle and the us said “hey if you don’t allow us to annex you we’re gonna kill your people” and queen lili’uokalani loved her people so much and would give the world for them… so she had to sign the papers. that’s why i hate to call hawaii part of the us. and schools don’t teach us that. they show the “great achievements” they got and hide what really happened. it’s a very sad story and it hurts my soul honestly.
