Japan is a weird case where their fruits don't compete on quantity and instead focuses on quality. Gifting fruits is also considered a big deal.

The generous funding granted to the companies featured on this platform says a lot. Not sure what triggers investors the most. To hear from the other side would be an awesome perspective...

The people who says I wouldn't pay that much for a strawberry don't understand marketing strategy. They target the people who are willing to pay for the quality of the food. For example, the people who always eat at a fancy restaurants.

As an American living in Japan, I can agree with the average strawberry (and other fruits as well) tasting and being of better quality than average ones in the US, 100%. I can't really say anything about the farming technique or the premium price as I don't know anything about that, but it is unfortunate that it's harder to get the same level of fruit in the US than it is in Japan.

Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life..

Hard to believe he’s NOT from America! 🇺🇸 His English is non distinguishable from an American dialect. Unbelievable compared to someone from Japan- he has no accent whatsoever!

I see the plastic waste, the excessive usage of energy as natural sun is excluded and the 50 decadent $ for 8 berries. That all makes me angry. The technology might be useful in case I want to eat strawberries on Mars. But on Earth we need to act differently.

I always wondered if the ultra premium fruit market in Japan can thrive in the US. 20 years ago the answer was probably a no. Today it’s clearly a yes. Very fascinating.

Love this idea except for the plastic packaging isn't very 'sustainable'

how much engery does it take to farm these strawberries this way? is this eco friendly method?

My issue here is they are growing fruits and vegetables in a lab (like a medicine) as opposed to growing it outside with sunlight. I’m open to it if there’re more benefits (besides better taste) but why aren’t they doing it outside in a farm?
