To me the F10 M5 is basically what an M7 would have been, the F80 M3 is the new M5, and the M2 is the new M3. Granted I haven't driven any of them, so I may be completely wrong

It's an incredible car, but the same technology and features and engine AND handling dynamics came in the 2011 X5M, not the 2010 yet, but the 2011 and newer.  If you want the ultimate daily driver and you are considering the F10 M5, also go drive an X5M, you'll be much happier with a certified X5M in the $50k's with the extra utility and still have plenty of coin to go pick up a peach of an E46 M3 AND an E60 M5. The decision is easy...convincing the wife will be the hard part.

My F10 M5 is over 55k miles and CPOed so I'm safe from expensive repairs but it's an absolute champ. 600+ HP and looks like it wears a fitted suit. I can take it to the track or a business meeting and it's never out of place.
