Tim Berners-Lee didn't invent the Internet, he "invented" the world-wide web (www) which runs ON the Internet. The Internet was invented by DARPA in the US along with several universities (which was the main reason for why it was created).

I put invented in quotation marks here because it was designed to solve a problem and wasn't really intended to be what we have now - the original HTML/HTTP specs were very simple and meant mainly to present text and search content contextually.

Also i will translate for James: Trump says he wants to win the cyber war against ISIS (meaning propaganda and cracking down on websites), he then went on to say that we should be capable we invented the internet, his son comment was to further back this up (as in my son is even good at computers we are a capable country).

Yes the son comment was silly but Trump has always explained matters with strange analogies.

I will paraphrase the rest. He then said to Hillary: you don't know who hacked your emails, yes, it could have been the Russian government, it could have been the Iranian government or the Chinese but it also could have been an American citizen (i.e the fat American).

The point there is not to start conflict with other world leaders without evidence.

how about commenting on what Hillary said about Russian she wants a war with Putin, I don't.

O'Brien is on point! I don't want to blame myself so I blame immigrants. That's how it's been that's how people will always be.

I think it's more complicated than that, but he probably has a point. I think it's routed in a harsh worldview - a world where you should be congratulated you for all that you have and condemned for what you don't. It has a gut appeal to many people, 'I have a job, I work hard, why should my money go to some scrounger!'. With that worldview, if you then lose out, you have three options: change your worldview; accept that's it's your personal deficiency; or you have to find an excuse that allows you to keep with your world view and your self-respect. Unsurprisingly many choose the third option and make excuses, but it's to protect their worldview (a hard thing to change) - not their voting record.

The idea that it's an excuse for voting right wing - that falls down when you consider that many of the last 30 years have been under the Left wing. Many people lured to populism have voted Left wing. So how are you going to convince them that the left wing is the solution?

James, you get a few things wrong very wrong. first thing right wing people believe in self responsibility that's an individual who dosen't want the state dictating what they can and can't do. People who look to blame migrants for their own failing have nothing to do with being right wing. but everything to do with being a nob head.
