I worked with a guy that would basically do his grocery shopping at the restaurant. He would take a couple of to go boxes and fill them up with what he wanted.

I first caught my staff stealing about $10 total at a time many times over. I confronted him but unfortunately I didnt't fire him. I was mad at him and I let him know how disappointed I was. 2 days later he stole everything (about $800) and left. Thats the last time I'm ever giving somebody a second chance ever!

Also, before you panic about a large overage or shortage, make sure to check with your bank first. They sometimes mess up change orders and deposits. I have run into that more than once when investigating an overage/shortage.

sorry bud, if you want to search my pockets, you need a warrant, I'll find a new job... theft, no theft... you have no right to be in my pockets what so ever even if I'm a cashier... I've never held a cashier job where searching pockets is a thing and I will never work at one like that...
