OIL INFRASTRUCTURE: New Kakumiro road to ease exploration, production in Bunyoro

President Museveni has commissioned Buhimba, Nalweyo to Kakumiro oil road. He said the project will ease the exploration and production of oil and gas resources in the Bunyoro sub-region. According to the Kakumiro district chairperson Joseph Ssentaayi, the road will ease access to good markets for agricultural produce. The construction which started in April 2018 cost over 500 billion shillings. The road's span is estimated at 20 years if it is used well. The commissioning ceremony came ahead of the celebration of the 37th Liberation day anniversary in the Kakumiro district.
