At some point, probably toward the end, can you do an overview of all the costs please! Like how much the house initially cost you, how much is cost to hire everyone/how much you saved doing it yourself, plus all the repairs and painting and updos etc. I’d love to do a project house one day, and would find it fascinating how much it all totals up to ☺️ plus maybe how much more it’s going to be worth at the end of everything ☺️

I’m so glad I came across your channel right before you started this series! I’m so excited to see all the progress and even more excited for the final results! Everything is looking great so far!!

You're so patient! I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end. Old houses are my fave and I love that you're keeping/restoring some of the original features... breaks my heart when people just gut old houses and get rid of all the character! x

Because you had to cover your ceilings and probably hide all the beautiful details, you could buy these Styrofoam rosettes and glue them on. You can buy them for 6€ on Amazon and then you just have to paint them. And boom you have your details back and I think it would really upgrade your rooms. Lovely greetings from Germany I'm also reeeally excited for the next part😘

Oh Hermione, if a bowed ceiling is the worst of your problems in a victorian, count your blessings! I've seen so many remodels online and there are many worse things that can go wrong! I know it feels slow for you, but it took 3 months to remodel our kitchen, and it still isn't at 100%, your process seems to be going quite smooth in comparison. I wish you luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Hopefully you will find some cool vintage "treasure" hiding somewhere for you to enjoy during this process as well.

Love the name of this series! Also, I think you are very brave for fixing a house like this. I hope for both of you that you'll be able to transform it into a place you love. (:

I hope you make a comparison video after the house is done, just to see the initial state and the final state!

Hermione, you and Ben are doing a wonderful job of loving the house back to the current century! When you recover from the renovation, you may want to put cedar planks in your hallway linen and guest room closets. Pretty easy DIY project and it smells wonderful!

Me and my partner bought our first house and it was in similar condition to yours, however, almost a year later it's really starting to come together nicely it is actually now starting to look like a home, it's really handy being able to some bits of the renovation by yourself (wallpaper stripping etc) it saves loads. I know it can seem like an never ending project, you start to feel like your finally getting somewhere and then another problem occurs and you feel like you're back to square one. However, it'll be worth it in the end. I can't wait to see the end result 😌

Ben's American! Cute, too.A m glad you never got so overwhelmed as to stop. Have moved into a place in winter during a snowstorm with my last Deerhound once. Never discouraged but never know why, looking at it years later. Good bones for that kitchen. But I saw the half done and finished part first. Good work.

Geez every wall was wallpapered!! That's crazy!! I had to remove wallpaper from just our kitchen when we moved into our home, and that was an ordeal!! TFS your journey.

It looks fab! I’d put a big range cooker in your kitchen fireplace instead of boarding it up. It would look amazing. That’s the only thing I regret not doing when we renovated our house x
