Creating that additional row on the same drive with the Steam Drive download tool was the sticky point for me but this vid cleared it up. Neither the readme of the tool itself or other YT vids explain this very well. Many thanks.

i only have one drive, it takes me to file explorer to add a directory but it doesnt do anything after apart from maybe create a steamapps folder but in the drop list the new folder isnt there
