The 2 covered up platforms were meant for a branch line for the Yurakucho Line that they've always planned to build.

They want to build a new branch of the Yurakucho Line from here to Sumiyoshi in Adachi Ward. Projected opening is in the next decade and cost US $1.9 Billion//270bn Yen.

I went to Japan in 2015. They were already getting ready for Olympics. I feel so bad for them. Wouldve been SO great!
