Even wonder about how RGB headers work? JJ also provides some insights regarding aRGB headers on ASUS Z690 motherboards and details the difference between motherboards featuring onboard AURA RGB lighting and how motherboards work when it comes to offering control and synchronization control varying devices like add on components, peripherals, and other accessories.

Please ensure you have updated your motherboards UEFI BIOS for the best Armoury Crate and RGB lighting experience. Clean OS installations are recommended alongside no other RGB lighting utilities.

I think the coolest part of this is easily the scenario profiles. With how much work it can take to dial in a really cool profile, it can sometimes feel like it's not worth it to go in and change settings every time I want to shift the mood. The fact that I could set up a more reactive mode for gaming, and then something softer and less distracting for web-browsing and working from home, and that the change would be automatic, is so cool.
The creature comforts continue! This is looking like a great ecosystem!

I gave up on Asus because it was a nightmare to get Aura working. That said it was over 4 years ago and rgb was relatively new. What's more, I had an Asus (AMD) extreme board and clearly Aura wasn't working well on AMD based boards. I would like build an Asus based PC again but super hesitant.

JJ please gives a slight estimate on the new OLED release date 🙏🏻

The 3 amp rating. Is that for each header individually or for the entire board?

All those extra features mentioned at 4:21 no longer exist, I just built my new PC 3 days ago and the Armoury Crate lighting settings don't have those extra options of clicking an option and a menu opens up for more options, that or I'm doing something wrong.

Is ASUS doing anything to address the Armoury Crate conflicts experienced by so many users and documented extensively (but which remain unresolved) on the Asus forums? For example: my Asus ROG Maximus Extreme z690 board, Asus Strix 3090 Ti WC OC video card, Asus Thor P1200 PS, Asus Falchion Wireless keyboard and Asus Gladius II wireless mouse do not and can not live together and operate smoothly within the confines and restricted ram-it-down-your-throat driver and firmware environment/bloat-moat that is Armoury Crate. I’ve reinstalled Win 11 (and subsequently every piece of software that I use) three separate times. Twice WITH Armoury Crate (which refused both times to update my listed Asus peripheral firmware) even though Crate recognized the needed and available firmware updates (mouse, keyboard). The result of these uninstallable updates equates to erratic mouse and keyboard behaviour: Laggy mouse. Then normal mouse. Then laggy, then normal in infinite unresolvable loop. All. Day. Long. Unresolvable. The keyboard works ok as a keyboard (only…no bells/no whistles) but the RGB which is supposed to change in synch with various battery charge levels simply does not work. At all. Period. My final Win 11 fresh install was done without Armoury Crate to avoid all of these seemingly unresolvable issues. Of course now I have no way whatsoever of updating drivers or firmware so I fully expect even more issues down the road. Can’t wait. I’ve lost more than a full week of productivity just trying to sort this nonesense to no avail. Ridiculous. Someone please explain why you can’t even uninstall Armoury Crate without a special Asus uninstall tool and why even that doesn’t stabilize these THOUSANDS OF DOLLAR$ OF HARDWARE MADE BY ONE SINGLE COMPANY: Asus. WHY? And why can’t I just have an alternative access point to drivers and firmware outside of this miserable Armoury Crate? Like EVERY OTHER MANUFACTURER ON EARTH? WHY? To what end? A grossly miscalculated and senseless branding exercise? A stubborn refusal to acknowledge a failure of implementation? I’m left with malfunctioning peripherals, an idiotic looking mish-mash of unsynchronized RGB and a multi thousand dollar purchase, more than I ever expected to ever pay for a system and IT DOES NOT WORK! How do I excercise my warranty ON ALL OF THIS? I WANT OUT. Cheated. Ignored. Furious.

The AURA control panel needs to include some control over the intensity of the light. My new STRIX build with EK Quantum series waterblocks on the CPU & GPU is over powering the existing lights in my case which makes the lighting look unbalanced. If I had control like Razer has in Synapse I could get the effect I like and not something that resembles a Christmas tree in a room.

Great video, now I can finally control the lighting on my ram lol. Just one concern from me, in terms of drivers and updates, to what extent will armory crate optimize my system for me in terms of drivers and updates? After performing a clean install of windows 11 pro on my z690 system, I opted not to install the armory crate utility in order to ensure that the system will cleanly install first. The only utility installed was intel’s drivers and utilities app (the one with the wrench logo), but it essentially only installed network drivers since windows automatically installed a chipset driver for me right after the clean install. Will there be any conflict between armory crate and intel’s application for drivers and utilities? Or will armory crate essentially complement the existing Intel application’s functionality? On another note, XTU refuses to start on my system due to my “CSM” being enabled. Is this absolutely essential to disable in order to use that utility as well? Will disabling that disable VBS?

About those Asus wallpapers, really hoping that you would push out more wallpaper picture resolutions. These 1920x1080 resultion pictures with 16:9 aspect ratio are unusable for us who are rocking with super-ultrawide monitors with 32:9 aspect ratio - half of the screen is without picture, and pictures needs to scaled upwards, making pics look worse. Pushing wallpaper with only a single aspect ratio is just lazy. Please step up.

Another thing, do you have any idea why my Z690-G's BIOS "CPU Fan Speed" controller is controlling mobo's CHA_FAN3 port, while the "Chassis Fan 3 Speed" is showing N/A?
I'm running the latest BIOS version.
