It’s a excellent time to build! It’s just that the parts I want either are not available, been manufactured, or announced yet. But aside from that, it’s a great time to build!

I bought new cpu and gpu back in July, despite all recommendations saying "don't buy now, , wait for new launches". I would be still waiting and waiting, losing the most precious thing in life: TIME. Wait for early September they said.... And that would have become November at least. So do what is more convenient for your situation.

The best time to build a pc is when you need one.

Paul, Love how calm and informative all your video's always are, I can only imagine for all the people new to computers you make building and finding what's needed a calming experience.

I'd be surprised if scalpers don't ruin the 3070 launch.

Title correction : *Don't build a PC right now with pc parts that just launched

You can go with older parts that are available new.

Its so nice that I have an AMD 5 3600 and it's still used in his builds.

It's actually an excellent time to START a build. Just hold off on cpu/gpu till zen3 and big navi drop.
Start shopping now!
With the state of the industry and world, there will be even worse shortages for all parts once everyone else start to pull the trigger on new PCs in November. PSUs are just the beginning, it took me over a month to get the motherboard I wanted, and it still hasn't shipped. Also many of the popular cases are back-ordered.

If you want to build a new PC around a new zen3 and BigNavi or RTX 30 then you should start buying parts now so that new cpu and gpu are the last piece of the puzzle not the first. Otherwise you WILL compromise on part selection and buy parts you normally wouldn't want or afford simply because they are the only ones in stock at the moment.

Everyone: Don't built a pc just yet

Me who built his pc 2 months ago:

_Though to be honest I went from a crappy Celeron with DDR3 Ram to a 1660 Super and a 2600X, it was necessary_

Dude this is the exact type of video/content I was looking for. I'm building my first desktop tower here in Canada and I'm struggling with nailing down a reasonable price point, especially with all the new parts launching soon. This video pointed me in the right direction x100, thanks a bunch!

For me it's the exact opposite. I'm not US based so I can't afford a cutting edge PC, so with this new releases, older gen components go down in price, so I can build a decent PC with 600 to 700 USD.
