If you make the saddle loops progressively smaller, with the smallest one of the outside, in theory it should feed out smoothly without pre-feeding it. In theory.

That was helpful, thank you! I have noticed that I struggle to descend the rope smoothly. When the terrain is vertical, I find my third hand gets grabby or is not grabby enough. Can you talk about your technique to mind the rope through the device?
