Moving into this house sooner than we were ready for. A quick and cost effective yet stylish way to make a counter top that works for the time being!

lol. Its supposed to look like this. Some people like the look of swamp wood and some don't. Keep kicking ass with both feet!

Looks crappy! Anyone using poly-stain has no clue!

It pays to marry an artist - you get stuff that NO ONE else will have. Pretty cool design, so I like your idea to preserve it if you guys are still happy with it. Makes a super cool contrast to the stark white cabinets too.

The person who said this looks "crappy", never mind. I am a 77 year old grandmother. I have always appreciated the unusual and I love this. You are blessed with creativity and artistic ability. You may think this is temporary, bet it's still in place in five years. Good job!

I'm always awed by the creative mind, and seeing it in action is just incredible. Thanks.

I have a friend who threw plywood on his cabinets until they decided on countertops. His wife painted them & used leaves to stencil them. 20 years later, still there.

Wow, that is simply incredible. Who would've thought that you could make plywood look like that? Hmmm, a plywood countertop, eh! I thought it would be just a plain old countertop but decided to watch anyway. Am I ever glad I did. You are so creative and skilled, to-boot! I'm hooked!

Josh that was amazing! Just the idea, never mind the execution of it all. Loved the 'spalling' effect and the burning. Your brain works in a wonderful way. Only worry is the lack of safety stuff you use to protect your eyes, lungs and hands. You are destined for great things but you need your eyes and hands Josh. Please take care.

Very creative! Not many would put that much effort into a finished countertop let alone what was intended to be temporary one. That just shows the passion you have for your craft!

Wow Joshua, kitchen looks awesome, a 2 pack epoxy resin clear coat will hold up well to kitchen use including heat. Easy to repair scratches with another filler coat and heat gun will blend in seamlessly. Or using coloured epoxy resin in knot holes, to make unique rivers etc.. Congratulations on your new home may you both have many years of enjoyment in it together. Victoria Australia xo

Been watching you since the Potters house. Not very long, but long enough to know you don't do anything simple and normal. You are amazing and brilliant. Love the counters, and so much of your other work.
Your awesome Josh.

They say art is in the eye of the beholder. So it doesnt matter what we think this is what Josh creates. I think the counter is unique and bold. It doesnt look like every other cookie cutter boring counter top out there. Josh is his own man, he isnt afraid to do something different. Keep up the dream Josh!

Totally randomly ran into this. Dude I love where you’re going with this. You took boring plywood and gave it character. You are an artist carpenter I admire that. A lot of tiny house people have to use wood countertops due to weight constraints. All of them use some kind of epoxy to protect it.

One of Man's greatest inventions, 3/4 " Birch Ply. As a purest, I like a clean edge when it comes to showing off the layers of grain. This came out amazing. I just think it would work way better on ply wood base cabinets.
