Let’s talk about how America ALMOST had universal healthcare. Can you imagine…

In 1945 President Truman proposed a bill that would have created a national healthcare system. He saw the need for healthcare to be available especially for those who couldn’t afford it, lived in rural areas, and were not provided health insurance options through their work.

Unfortunately, his bill was not passed as it was viewed (at the time) as socialist and anti-American.

However, this piece of history should be a reminder to us that although healthcare has come a long way, it still needs a lot of work and that access to healthcare is a basic, human right.

Let’s chat! Let us know what you think about a universal healthcare system ⬇️

Well it is kinda socialist if ya really think about it. Plus America is raising INDEPENDENT PEOPLE who think what can I do for my country not DEPENDENT people who think what can my country do for me. Indirect quote sorta from the citizens almanac of the USA.
