Is the Gearbox Worth it? | Zerode Taniwha Long Term Review

In this video I review my Zerode Taniwha which I've been riding for a year now. I tell you guys everything I don't like and everything I like about this bike that I've found in the year that I've ridden it. I made this video to help people who want to by a Zerode to see whether this would be the bike for them as this is such a niche bike that there aren't too many reviews that reveal the ugly truth about this bike.

Also this video by far has been the one I've put in the most effort. This whole video was actually meant to be me just talking about this bike in my backyard but the audio was atrocious so I scrapped that idea and had to make it all voiced over. This also presented its own challenges as I had to get enough footage to fill the time of me talking, plus it had to be related to what I was talking too. Anyway I'd appreciate if you liked and subscribed as this video was a doozy.

Also, Zerode of you're watching this (which you probably aren't) I know I critiqued this bike a fair amount and I'm not sorry, not at all.

The guys at Zerode are super nice (if you purchase directly from them) and you can configure pretty much every single component!

Especially 9 gears or 12 gears is possible on every build they offer!

And a final comment on pedaling performance (writing this as a pretty fit woman): I own my Katipo now for the 3rd season and take it on the same huge tours like I did on my derailleur bike, with lots of climbing in the alps. I am not slower at all (says Strava), and I can keep up with my mates just like before.

Put some bone grease on the dropper post and it will work smoothly and just like it worked when it was new. This is from personal experience as I had the issue as well but apparently bone grease was there to save the day.

Just wind up the suspension when you ride that drop off, might be bottoming out if its harsh. probably blowing through all the travel. Nice video buddy.

For 10gz i should think its worth it. On the upside theres no dangly deraileur. So you can change gear while stopped and only not pedalling is that right. It is a nice ride. Just wipe the seat post now and then maybe getting a bit sticky from dust etc. 1 day i will get a nice bike im just old school.👌
