Great video, as always.
Do you remember the species Padme tells Anakin about, when they're at her family's home in the deleted scene, looking at the old photograph? She says their planet was destroyed; do you think THEY all went extinct?

From what i recall, the Rakkata did not go extinct. They contracted a virus that took away their ability to use the force, namely the dark side, and they shrank back to Rakkata Prime to live out their lives, dumbed down to how they were before they were contacted and taught about advanced tech.

Although not a sentient species, I’d say that the Tarentatek are extinct. One is mentioned and even depicted in the last episode of season 6 of the Clone Wars, but it doesn’t seem that they are alive anymore. The Tarentatek are a highly aggressive beast-like species that only preyed upon force sensitives and Jedi. They have been known to go into hibernation for long periods of time and reawaken when the dark side is at its most powerful across the galaxy. In legends there was once a “great hunt” of them where the Jedi attempted to hunt them to extinction and rid them from the galaxy. The few that survived lived on worlds extremely strong in the dark side and were out of reach for the Jedi. In KOTOR there is one on Kashyyyk, three on Korriban, and I believe two on Lehon.

Having played countless hours of Star Wars KOTOR i remember the rakatans as they are part of the last act of the game, having regressed to more or less savages that tame rancors and hunt other species to eat them

geonosians are for sure extinct just because a single queen survives doesnt mean its enough to repopulate a entire speices especially in a galaxy that wants to see them extinct (cant think of a single person in the star wars galaxy besides a lone surviving jedi who would want the geonosians to not go extinct)

From what I gathered, the Massassi are the sub-species to pure-blood Siths ( think of them as the savage brutes vs the intellectual pure bloods ). They both originated from Korriban but the Massassi relocated to Yavin 4 with Naga Sadow. Thank You SWTOR for teaching me this XD

The Kaminoans may also be functionally extinct. Assuming the Empire destroyed all structures on Kamino, that would leave the only survivors of the species as Halle Burtoni, Lama Su, and perhaps a handful of scientists. The Kaminoans would likely despair knowing that the genetic bottleneck would likely be to great to overcome.

Shouldn't be difficult to bring them Back with Cloning Tech. As for the Rakata they aren't Extinct just gone back to the Stone Age and some of them even built a Second Star Forge tho not sure what happened to it.

what about the Sith Species? All of the sith species were force sensitive and used the dark side of the force. But after thousands of years as humans became sith, their species slowly died off in the many sith wars with the jedi and sith infighting.

That can't be cause the Rakata were natural dark side oriented in nature they never studied the light side even the weapons used the Darkside with the force sabers. The Zeffo we original light side, they would be a bad replacement in my opinion. Not too mention in legend the Infinite Empire were responsible for creating multiple humanoid alien races such as the Twi'lek and Zabrak making it possible for them to mate with actual humans. Best example of this would be Jacen.

What about the Taung? The founders of the Mandalorian culture? As well as the original inhabitants of Coruscant... They are long gone.

4:26 This is something I think cannon should tackle more directly. Something I can’t help but critique Star Wars for is that the empire seems to have become less imposing as villains. They’re portrayal seems more slap stick and while yes making fun of your villains is good for a comedic element, I’d like a story where we see why it was important for the rebellion to succeed and why the new republic letting the first order come back was such a betrayal to the peoples of the Galaxy. It’d definitely be a tragic story to tell but I think the empire being control freaks and all has been hammered home enough. It maybe a good idea for the empire to be shown to committing crimes akin to the inspiration for the empire. I suppose I just want a story with a more darker feeling context. Maybe making a film or tv show where a group of rebels who aren’t quite the rebellion alliance are trying to save the B’ankora would be a good premise(only for them to fail utterly).

The last f the massasi were apparently sacrificed in a darkside ritual that Exar Kun conducted to elevate his spirit from the physical plain

There's also the Sith Purebloods, who were wiped out through systemic hybridization with other species in the Sith Empire. The Massassi were actually just one of the castes of the Sith Purebloods, being their warrior caste.

From a constructive standpoint I would recommend staying away from the “Burger King foot lettuce” voice pattern and also add a subtle background instrumental.

I think the infinite Empire stuff is largely the same in Cannon, it doesn’t contradict anything existing anyway. Its also hinted at, especially considering Rakata Prime probably wouldn’t even be marked on the New Cannon map if it wasn’t important. It’s just Disney hasn’t gotten around to telling stories about the Rakata yet.
