Strange Age Gaps Between Parent And Kids That Make NO SENSE In Movies And Tv Shows...

It’s no secret that Hollywood is obsessed with youth, and that they absolutely love to cast extremely young people to play older roles. Look at every “teenager” on tv, and if you can find one that isn’t over the age of twenty, we owe you a Coke. From The OC and Gossip Girl, to The CW’s slate of shows like Riverdale, Vampire Diaries, Nancy Drew, and more, there is no shortage of twenty-somethings playing teens on TV. But what about their parents? Well, most of them are way younger than you might think, and sometimes the age gap between parents and their on-screen kids is borderline hilarious! And it happens in movies too! Most recently, we have Ginny and Georgia, the new Netflix series with a Gilmore Girls-ish storyline about a young mom and her daughter. While Georgia did have Ginny when she was only fifteen, in real life their age gap is a whole lot smaller. Xo on Jane The Virgin wasn’t even ten years older than her daughter, and Mandy Moore on This Is Us is actually younger than all three of her children; Sterling K Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley! One character on Outlander is only two years older than her TV daughter, Samuel L Jackson is actually older than his on-screen mom in Glass, and the ancient epic Alexander featured a 29 year old Angelina Jolie playing Colin Ferrel’s mother… when he was twenty eight. And these examples aren’t even scratching the surface of all of the tiniest age gaps between Hollywood parents and their children!

For the "Vampire Diaries (again)", it's actually pretty accurate since she was turned into a vampire when they were kids and Stefan and Damon were turned when they were older. Ok Paul and Ian are older than their characters BUT, looking at the story chronologically, it still fits.

For Twilight Renesmee is supposed to look older, she is a human hybrid which means she grows fast and Bella is a vampire which means she doesn't grow.

Olga's actually a few years OLDER than Dobrev...
Though it more because her character was a lot older than Dobrev's was when they turned into vampires...

You forgot Caroline and Lizzie saltzman in vampire diaries. The actor that plays Lizzie is 30 and the actor that plays Caroline is only 33 or 32 that makes them 3 years apart

While we're not under any illusion that everything we see in the movies is real, some of the real life age gaps between these on-screen parents and children is so unrealistic, it will change the way you see the film entirely. They're not regular parents, they're unlikely parents

I don’t think fantasy or science fiction should have been included.
Example 1 Doctor Who - Alex Kingston (River Song) was was 25 years older than her on screen mother Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) when they started filming season 6.
Edit: Just found out Matt Smith (The Doctor) and Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams) were born the same year but Arthur was 28 and Matt was 27 when filming started.
Example 2 The Flash - Grant Gustin (Barry Allan) was 28, Candice Patton (Iris West-Allan) was 30 but Jessica Parker Kennedy (Nora West Allan), their on screen daughter, was 33.
Yes in real life this would not be possible but you have to suspend reality when it comes to fantasy, science fiction etc.

On Twilight Saga breaking dawn part 2, Kristen Stewart is actually 10 years older than Mackenzie foy because Kristen is actually 22 and Mackenzie is 12 because Kristen is actually 18 in 2008 and 2008 is the time where the first Twilight movie and Twilight Saga: breaking dawn part 2 is last Twilight movie and Twilight Saga: breaking dawn part 2 is in 2012 so Mackenzie foy is 12 and Kristen Stewart is 22 so Kristen Stewart is 10 years older than Mackenzie foy
