Sometimes it’s only by a few years, and other times it’s more. We’ve grown so accustomed to seeing older stars who have on-screen romances with young starlets, we rarely even bat an eye at it these days. But sometimes these age gaps are more prominent. For some, it’s an uncomfortable viewing experience, especially if the characters don't seem as though they should be together. For others, it’s perfectly natural for two people to be together who have romantic feelings for each other, and age shouldn’t get in the way.

In this video, we’re taking a look at some Hollywood movies with the biggest age gaps between actors. While almost all of them feature an older male actor opposite a younger female actors, that’s not the case for all of them. Harold and Maude, for example, is a timeless classic that features a young boy falling for a much older woman. And Beginners is a critically acclaimed feature that has an older man falling in love with a much younger man. This has been going on for years in movies, although the gap in ages wasn't as extreme! 1973's "Breezy" had a 58 year old William Holden fall for 19 year old Kay Lenz, who both came from extremely different backgrounds. In "Funny Face", 1956 - although the age gap wasn't made prevalent in the story - Audrey Hepburn was 28 and Fred Astaire was 58!

You might look at the 1969 "Age of Consent" starring James Mason as a broken-down artist, and Helen Mirren as his 17-year-old model.

Also, Humphrey Bogart and a 19-year-old Lauren Bacall in, "To Have and Have Not."

I know that it should not be part of the list, but Catherine Z. Jones and Sean Connery in Entrapment were a hell of a couple if we'd put the age gap aside.

As a child I liked Poison Ivy for the storyline. The entire movie was deranged. Though I did hate the fact of the age, if she'd been 20 I'd still have been grossed out, but @ least she wouldn't have been a child.
& I still question why my parents let me watch it? Lol
