GE 7-2945A AM FM Weather Radio Daytime MW

The classic GE 7-2945A is a very easy to find portable radio on the used marketplace. It represents a solid investment and will provide the operator years of service. Having a built in AC cord gives you the option to make this a shop or kitchen radio as well. During this Daytime medium wave band scan I find that this radio is very capable and sounds mellow with it's Four Inch Speaker.

Overall, bring a passive loop such as the Terk Advantage, and you will be able to listen to many distant MW stations. The analog tuning is smooth and the radio even has a working NOAA Weather Band. Awesome!

I have this radio in my collection and I absolutely love it. It’s in rough condition and I need to find a replacement antenna for it but man it’s worth hanging onto it. Old school is what I prefer though I have modern radios also. Thanks for another great review.

Todderbert. Which radio should I get...the CCrane EP PRO or the much more expensive one? I`m only interested in great AM reception. Is the cheaper one basically just as good? Do both have external antenna inputs?

My 2945a receives local aircraft 125-127 around channel 5 TV...this kind of added feature. Does anyone else have surprise features they would like to talk about?
