As a retired and former cathedral choirmaster and organist AND professional violist, I am extremely impressed at this arrangement AND your magnificent playing of this work. Bravo!

This is the right instrument for this piece, other than the organ. Violin is too high; my cello is too low. Viola is just right! Beautiful performance. The room space in which you are playing has wonderful resonance. Bravo!

This is wonderful - really great testimony to the amazing range of a viola. I feel it is an underappreciated instrument by many.

I didn't think anything other than the organs would be more scary but that was absolutely beautiful and soul chilling. I swear Bach must have been the most morbid man alive

This is one of the videos that I use to show what a viola can really do. Thank you for playing and thank you for sharing!

I showed this video to my 10 year old daughter - your playing was so beautiful that she fell in love with the viola and will start to learn how to play herself! Thank you for your brilliant playing. I enjoy your arrangement as much or even more than the original version played with the organ. What a gift you have!

I’m a young viola player, I’ve only been playing for about 3 years now and I hope that one day I can get to this point! Such a beautiful piece. You really did it justice!

I mean, a Viola. The contralto voice in the string ensemble, how could it not be so poignantly beautiful?!?! Her range, her tonal warmth, her underrated yet essential presence ❤ Magnificent playing, Maestro Uszynski, such gorgeous lessons in music you are graciously giving to us! God bless.

Man this guy can play! I've recently started learning Viola again after a long gap away playing guitar and drums. Although I'm learning folk and country fiddle style, I really love this performance.

161 likes and no one single dislike, that's quite and achievement in social media. And yet, no wonder. Such a beautiful rendition, I will definitely show this to my daughter (she is learning viola and will surely love this one). Thanks indeed for the video and for the music.

Looks like we have a viola patron here! It's astonishing. Both performance and performer.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to this! Absolutely beautiful! 🖤

I have never heard this piece played so wonderfully on a string instrument! The combination of the acoustics and quality of the woods lends a wonderful audio quality to this rendition, too. Definitely encourages me to practice my own viola playing even if I won’t reach this level… That was nearly as a good as Primrose.

I have seen many viola players playing this Toccata and Fugue, but Mr. Uszynski is certainly unique in performing this suffisticated masterpiece so perfectly and in a virtuosity spirit .
Just wonderful..
