My favourite is Paphos. And the nice village of Tala who the British favour a lot .Kamares Village just outside Tala is even better so look it up . lots of nice villas and there are always some for sale .starting at €250 k and upwards to mega prices.

Lots of useful stuff for those who have not visited the island. My choice for a permanent home would be the more laid-back town of Platres. Cooler in the summer and within easy reach of snow skiing at Troodos in the winter.

Bought a house by the sea just outside Ayia Napa in my retirement. Personal choice but much prefer this side of the island where the coastline offers the best beaches and sea.

Generally speaking, do you reommend buying real estate in Cyprus? I remember another video in which you mentioned Cyprus's significant disadvantages. I live in Israel and always considered the possibility of buying a small apartment there, yet the taxes and the problems involved with selecting a resale property alone have led me to reject the idea, even though I have an Eu citizenship. I bought a property up in the mountains (or hills) North of Paphos. It's not as unbearably hot and humid there in summer.

I think I will buy a house in the UK and rent it out. I don't think I will making a good money in Cyprus when the government makes air bnb tighter. It means I have to rent it for a long term. My house will be damaged.

Cyprus certainly is a unique place to live. And they don't want the middle class or poor, not good but it's the wealthy they are after. Anyone who could invest in the island be it real estate or money in the bank will do. I heard about 300, 000 euro or more will do? Not sure though. And Cyprus will welcome the person and their family. A place with practically no homeless, little, as in Very little crime, . and prices for food, cloths, basic entertainment(eating out, going for a drink...) are comparable to the USA where I currently live, in fact food is more expensive here in USA than it was in Cyprus.. Many of the new homes and villas are quite nice. Even the older house in villages have a beauty of their own. And of course some of the best weather to be found. The inhabitants are not poor and sometimes wealthier than the tourists/visitors. I do recommend for anyone who can afford it, to grab some property. A house, flat, even land without anything on it. I invested some time ago and prices now are much more than when I purchased my property. Prices still going up so...

Before investing in Cyprus you need to be aware of the effects of the 1974 Turkish invasion.

Most homes built in the North post 1974 are on illegally occupied land. You will NEVER get legal title and stand to lose everything when the rightful owner claims their land back.

In the South there is land legally owned by displaced Turkish Speaking Cypriots and the same argument applies.

It is vital to seek advice from an experienced local expert BEFORE you sign anything.
