ISP HUM EXTRACTOR + DECIMATOR G + REAMP EXTC SA + NDSP

Показать описание
Guitar HUM... One of the reasons why I mostly play software plugins instead of hardware amplifiers and guitar effects.
I don't know of anything else on the market that is not a noisegate but targets exactly the 50 /60 hz parasitic HUM noise frequencies + their harmonics and uproots them mercilessly.
If you play anything more than a noise gated chugging and are a fan of high gain transparent guitar solo sound, you need this because nothing else can help you.
All my guitars have a dead silent spot when I point them at the exact geographical North, but I wanted that HUM free dead silence to be present all the time, so my long search for the holly grail of pure as possible guitar signal began.
Step one was to add an extra copper shielding on top of the graphite paint in the electronics cavity. Did not make any change.
Step two was to plug everything in my studio in an AUDIOLAB audiophile power conditioner with a DC filter. Did not make any change.
Step three was to get a Radial J48 DI box with a ground lift.
It made it better but not enough for me.
Step four was to get a military grade EMF shielding curtains for my studio. My phone lost the cellular signal, but the noise persisted.
Did I give up?
You know I didn't!
If you plan to use the ISP Hum Extractor + Decimator G in a hardware only environment, your search and suffering is over, and you will have a true ZERO parasitic noise guitar signal experience, transparent as you want.
If you plan to use the ISP Hum Extractor in a plugins only sim VST DAW environment, there is one major problem. Because of the difference in the In / Out impedance between guitar effects and USB interfaces, the only way to do it is via a Reamp box with a dedicated FX loop like the Radial EXTC SA. The ISP manual never even mentions such a possibility, let alone explaining how the routing should be done.
In the Logic Pro DAW, you have to use a plugin called I/O (In/Out). It lives in your Logic DAW effects tab. (The Reaper version is called ReaInsert)
These handy plugin utilities serve as digital patch bay, allowing us to integrate external audio effects similar to using internal VST sim effects.
The settings on the ISP itself are a subject to a VERY delicate balance and exact combination. It will take you a day or two to find the sweet spot, but when you get there, the fun begins.
P. S. Beware! The ISP customer support is non-existent. They never replied to any of my emails or messages.
