In this video, I explain how the tragic crash of Voepass Flight 2283 occurred, leading to the loss of all 61 passengers on board.

The aircraft, an ATR 72-500, was en route when it likely encountered severe difficulties at flight level 170. Ice formation on the wings is believed to have caused the plane to become uncontrollable, making it nearly impossible for the pilots to regain control. As a result, the plane tragically plunged to the ground in Vinhedo, Brazil. All 61 passengers die in this flight.

My deepest sympathies go out to the families and loved ones affected by this devastating accident.

Hello, I'm a pilot in the Brazilian Air Force FAB. The Voepass plane that crashed in Vinhedo (SP) underwent maintenance after suffering damage 'structural damage' in March this year. The ATR-72-500 turboprop model had air conditioning problems, hydraulic system failure and abnormal contact with the runway. The problems began on March 11 of this year. Report showed that there was “abnormal contact” between the aircraft and the runway at the time of landing, on a trip from Recife to Salvador. According to the investigation teams, the “abnormal contact” was a collision between the plane's tail and the airport runway. According to what was reported in the company's maintenance system, the accident caused “structural damage” to the aircraft. The aircraft was parked in the capital of Bahia for 17 days, until March 28, and underwent repairs at the Voepass workshop. The plane whose prefix I cannot provide only returned to flight on July 9th, and had an alleged depressurization during the flight. That's all I can say at the moment.

Once a t-tail plane stalls, it’s virtually impossible to recover.
This is just like the Pulkovo 612 crash in 2006.

Another ART-72 had electrical problems yesterday. It was diverted to Minas Gerais, its final destination was São Paulo, Guarulhos Airport - GRU.

why would you put people screaming: isn't the situation tragic enough

Unless the design has changed. There is no “defroster”. There is an ice detecting system on the side of the forward fuselage. Pneumatic boots on the leading edge of the wings. The boots were redesigned after the Roselawn Indiana crash in the 90s. Severe icing was deemed the cause. But the CVR indicated the pilots weren’t even reacting to the ice detection alerts. I flew the atr42 in canada for 3 years with no issues whatsoever
It’s too early to make any speculations about this accident..

Crashing through that pickup truck was the cause of the plane doing down.

RIP crew and passagens of Voepass 2283.

I find this video weird. First because nobody knows what occurred, so the description is misleading. Secondly because the only information we have recorded in video (the flat spin) is not accurately depicted at all. Also, the screams and the music… lol, really?

This crash almost exactly mirrors the incident in 1994 in Indiana with American Eagle Flight 4184. Same plane. Same altitude. Same demise. Nearly the same amount of occupants. And if the icing scenario did bring this one down, it would be the exact same cause. I remember 4184 well because I was a young man of 15 who was fascinated by aviation from a young age. It shocked and saddened me and led me to a vow of never stepping foot on an ATR aircraft. All these years later, I never have.

That screaming is exactly what happens when passengers feel they are in danger. I was on a DC6 out of Mexico City approaching L. A., California. It was a bumpy approach to LAX, and the people thought we were crashing. They Started wailing just like this video .

The explosions and edited screams is a tad bit too much and too soon for this tragic event to be displayed this way

If ice build-up is noticed, the defroster should be turned on.

The problem is not the simulation itself, but rather its elements.
I found it unnecessary and totally pointless to put that audio of screams inside the recent accident that occurred in August, and yet, 3 days later they did this simulation.
Even though almost 4 months have passed since the tragedy, it is an immense pain and a lack of respect to add these sounds of screams....

Could lowering the landing gears and deploying flaps help the plane out of flat spin?

De los Aprox 1100 ATR 72 que se fabricaron Sólo 13 se estrellaron pero 3 de ellos por causa de la formación de hilo y este podría ser el 4 si se confirma la hipótesis.
