I spent many years in Mexico City. Your overview is excellent. Somewhat unsurprisingly, most US tourists overlook a visit to Mexico City even though it is much closer than other travel destinations in Mexico or the US! I'd say that is changing now and it is being much more highlighted recently.

I spent the weekend in Mexico City 2 weeks ago. There is definitely too much to do in this ginormous city. Safety is really good as long as you are not drunk on the streets. Commoners have much higher respect for their surroundings compared to citizens in the west. You need someone who can handle the intense pressure of driving because it's a straight offense on the road. I went to an electronic event called Afterlife and it was a magical experience. Mexico is very spiritual and the country has a very rich history and culture. Travelling here changed something in me and it was only for 2 days.. can't wait to come back.

Thank you for this video. We just got back from Mexico City yesterday and I wished we had seen your video before. We missed on a few places since we did not know about it. For safety, I would suggest NOT to take any taxi and just use Uber. After our day in the historic district, we took a pink taxi parked in the street but we made a BIG mistake. The taxi cab driver charged us 600 pesos for a typical 80 to 100 pesos ride. Looking back, they were a few signs that tells us NOT to take this taxi. First, the taxi is so beat up and old. There was no sign displayed on the taxi about the driver’s identification. I felt weird about the taxi that at that time but I did not know why…but felt something weird about the taxi and the driver. (I wished I have listen to my inner instinct.) The taxi meter was not easily visible..Actually, it was tucked in on his left dashed board tucked deep down and it was also faced down. We shared this story to our hotel staff and told us that it was a good thing, we did not argued since it may be unsafe to do so and you never know how the driver may react if we argued. Lesson learned: NEVER use pink taxi especially those who do not have identification. Best to use Uber for transportation for SAFETY. Just sharing this lesson learned….Mexico City is a beautiful city and enjoy exploring!! ✌️😊

Great video. Surprised you didn't mention San Ángel, which is an upscale version of Coyoacán....it is a must for tourists; particularly their Saturday bazaar...

Helpful video! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
