I didn’t know facial wasting even existed... there is such a stigma still with this disease, so sad.

What a wonderful Doctor. The whole AIDS crisis was such a nightmare. I’m glad to see there are rejuvenation projects helping survivors.

he’s been living with HIV since the 80s. all the “sad story/ i feel sorry” comments down below are just adding the to stigma that once you have this disease, your life is over and that’s not the case. look how happy (and handsome) he looks at 3:46. i’m sure he’s come to terms w his health and is just fine.

educate yourselves, people. google is free

He's hot! He doesn't look over 50 and certainly doesn't look sick or even unhealthy, he looks like the image of health and fitness!!!

The fact that scientists back then actually believed there was “gay cancer” blows my mind.

"We're all in the boat together, lets help each other row" A fantastic statement that sums life up.
Brilliant video ❤️

I've never heard this term. I always thought the face became thin and hollow just due to weightloss.

So much progress. When I worked in an STD clinic in the late 80’s an HIV diagnosis was a death sentence.

I watched this and started crying. I lived in LA from 1981 to 1995. I lost 98% of my friends to AIDS. I somehow am still negative and survived. So many died from the medicine. Thank you and good luck

I wish my uncle had survived. It was so painful for me as a young girl to watch him deteriorate. I stopped by to see him daily, tried to comfort him. I loved him so much, I still miss him. He died in 1991.

i love it whenever buzzfeed produces a video like this once in a blue moon. it's great to be educated by just short clips. having an insight to other people's lives and being able to share their extraordinary stories is humbling. hopefully more of these sort of videos will be produced in the future. they're so inspiring to watch.

Your so blessed to be able to tell your story. Millions died in order for you to tell your story and I'm so happy your sharing it

This video is so important. Sometimes I worry about Buzzfeed but then they always put out a video like this, that brings awareness to an otherwise ignored issue. Thank you for bringing to light how important not only the fight to cure HIV/AIDS, but the care of those afflicted is.
