People ask, "What happened to young people? Why have so many women moved left, and men become less masculine and more emotional?" Simple—they went to college, where their strength and resilience were stamped out.

My college literally sent out an email saying “i know some of you are recovering from the tragic news we have all received last night. For everyone’s mental health, college classes will be cancelled for the next two days to help clear your head.” Like girl 💀💀

Dude I was in college when 9/11 happened, and we were huddled around the tv in our Student Union in fear watching the footage of the towers collapse. All my school did was cancel the classes for that day, but we had to come back to classes yes the next day. No coloring books, and no legos. These people need to grow up!

I’m a professor at a university in a blue state. My coworkers went home crying. The college sent a message out. Our dean was comforting staff. Teachers were comforting students. People were crying in elevators. It was hysteria… and it was hysterically funny.

Something similar happened to me in 2016. A day or two after the election, I had an English professor try to "comfort" us and "chat with us about how we were feeling after Trump winning the election." I immediately called her out on it. I told her that she was wasting our time and money, we paid for an "Introduction to Literature" course, not a politics course, and said I would walk out of the classroom if she continued. I even told her that if she wanted to "comfort her students" like she claimed, she could do it during her office hours. She gave me a shocked look but stopped and continued with what we were supposed to do that day. I got looks from my classmates from it, but I had no regrets. The coddling for college students was ridiculous then and still is now.

I’d be PISSED if my classes were canceled over an election. I’m paying damn good money to learn and to be taught. Not to have my feeling coddled.

You know what I noticed today, my little rural town was hustling and bustling. Everyone was relaxed, walking downtown, shopping and having a coffee. It was lovely! The babies need to get off their phones and cult-tok accounts to enjoy life. It is possible!

I currently am pursuing an education degree from Brigham Young University - Idaho and we just had class, no change in schedule, no big show about who won or lost, no late assignments, just work. We treated it like any other day, like all institutions should.

And they make fun of non college educated people. They're in daycare, while we're working.

I go to a conservative college and we got ZERO days off because of the election. The only post election related activities we had were two of my professors (history and government) having a brief discussion in class

I attend a liberal arts college…
And the way the professors and students were acting super depressed like it was the end of the world was insane. They were all acting like “I know it’s hard but thank you for still coming to class” IT WAS CRAZY?! There was a faculty meeting seeing how they should handle us??? One of my professors said she cried in her earlier classes!!!
We were offered so many counseling and therapy mental health check in groups, it actually drained the heck out of me. Hardest thing was hiding my actual relief and happiness at the election results 😭

Imagine what this is teaching these students.. when you go out to work in the real world and a “traumatizing” event happens you don’t just get to cancel. Bills still need to get paid, people still need the service you provide. This is just amazing.. definitely sending this to my dermatologist friend. He always spoke about how hardcore Georgetown was when he was going to school to become a doctor, pretty sure he would’ve liked a “self care suite” when he was dying from sleep deprivation while going through medical school.

A college student on X post. He will leave America and move to Hawaii.
My reply: Hawaii is the 50th state of America.
What are the teachers teaching their students?🤔

The day my dad died I took 1 day off work to cry, remember and be with my mother. The death of a loved one is when you take a day off work. These spoiled entitled college daycare babies and their overpaid enablers are next level pathetic.

I work at a community college. A decent chunk of the students, professors, and staff called in for self care. The ones who couldn't take off walked around thinking the world was ending. For the actual mature students, professors, and staff, it was just business as usual. No crying or group hugs. It was a nice day

Jesus if you gave me that schedule without context I would have thought it was for kindergartners

I love this! As an aspiring teacher, I am totally going to use events like this to take paid time off! /s

They're acting like a horrific terrorist attack happened on campus.

And yet none of them will leave. Nobody is actually fleeing the country. Nobody is hiding away in an annex. Nobody really thinks this is 1933 in Germany.

I stopped believing in college professors when my sociology prof tried telling a 350 person lecture hall that the idea that Vietnam war vets were mistreated after the war was a myth and they were in fact treated fine. This is despite him being contradicted by the very same documentary he assigned to us for hw
