Somebody cut a piece of jade and left it in a rock pile for someone to find. I don't have a saw to cut it. It's black nephrite when light hits it it goes half way in and doesn't glow like glass. I've tried the gravity test, cold, hair, and scratch passed everything. Don't get me wrong I find jade in New York, hut majority of it is ocean jade, great lake jades and bolder jades that you have to digg for. Also you have to have a permit and it's highly illegal.
