"I don't go to the doctor often because I'm rarely sick," John Wiley said. Instead, he attended a Men's Health Day event at North Kansas City Hospital. His checkup included prostate cancer screening.
During the screening Urologist, Gerald Park, MD, detected a lump. A few days later, John's prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, test results showed a higher than normal level. A biopsy confirmed cancer. Because John took advantage of a health screening, his prostate cancer was detected early, when it's most treatable.
