I've found fingerpicking works best with all 3 pickups on, it works sort of like an acoustic and gives a really rich fingerpicking sound which i find is usually lacking on electric guitars.

Nice review! I just subscribed 🙏 I have a player series strat in inca silver with a Pao ferro fret board. It is just amazing. The tuning stability is a bit suspect since I've had to tune it at least 4 times in the last 10 months. But otherwise amazing! 😜
The one thing that really elevated it to a whole other level is when i installed a 10-way freeway switch!!! OMG!!! without modifying anything in the guitar or changing the pickguard or anything, you replace the stock 5 way switch with this thing and all of a sudden you have 5 new tones! You have one where the neck & bridge are combined like in a tele (and your strat), another one where all three pickups are together which you have too, then you have middle and neck in series, bridge and neck in series and also one last one which you can choose (either bridge and middle in series or all three pups in series). I can't even believe how amazing this transformation was! And the thing cost me $40 to buy (had to pay another $40 for my tech to install it). Anyway highly recommended and it's made my Mexican player series in to some incredible custom shop signature strat!

Black pickguard with no white ply on black strat looks really awesome. Mini toggle options and the pot tapers are awesome too. Nice rig!

One more question- why not upgrade the tremolo? The old standards had good hardware but you would be surprised how great a trem upgrade is for these

I had an old hardtail, neck through style strat with the bridge on mod and all three on with quite a bit of gain gave me a much thicker tone than any others almost les paul sound

I have the screw hole problem as well lol
They should make more pick guards for vintage and mij models.

cut the top off of a screw off and crazy glue it in the empty hole on the pickguard

can you post the wiring diagram here? i want to figure out if with 3 single coils can mod the mod to add a killswitch option in a 3 way toggle.

What's the mod that makes your thumb so long to use that way. Never could figure out which pickups to use, which tremolo, or wiring to get my thumb to do that mod lol. Amazing playing
