The front line Avdiivka in the Donetsk region survives under constant Russian shelling

People still live in Avdiivka – a suburb of the temporarily occupied Donetsk. The area is not simply near the front line – it is part of it. Active hostilities do not cease in the entire region. Representatives of the local Ukrainian authorities have long changed civilian outfits for military uniforms and now actively supply the city's remaining residents with humanitarian aid. It's always heartbreaking to see the old folks. They have experienced so much and now you want to enjoy a peaceful and just retirement. Instead, they have to take care of the essentials in a terrible war, they have no electricity, no water, no heating. I'm so sorry, these people didn't deserve this! I'm just starting watching the "Servant of the People" series on Netflix now and it is heartbreaking to see how beautiful Ukraine was before this war started and how much damage has been done in one year of brutal shelling, missile attacks and bombing by Russia.

There are hundreds of billions of dollars of Russian assets frozen in the west, those MUST be turned over to the people of Ukraine to rebuild after they win this war and all Russians are gone.

Ukraine is a true gem of the world that must be allowed to shine again.
