Durante el rodaje de "Universal Soldier" (1992) se rumoreó insistentemente sobre una tensa y conflictiva relación entre Jean-Claude Van Damme y Dolph Lundgren.
Este rumor pareció confirmarse cuando el film se estrenó en el Festival de Cannes:
En la alfombra roja, Jean-Claude Van Damme y Dolph Lundgren tuvieron una fuerte discusión que terminó con empujones hasta que unos guardias de seguridad los separaron. El escandaloso incidente fue registrado por las cámaras que filmaban el evento.
Pero como ya muchos sabrán (puesto que ya hemos contado esta anécdota), esto fue "actuado". Sí...una mentirita.
Los actores confesaron tiempo después que esto fue un truco publicitario para atraer más personas a las salas, ya que por aquellos días la productora "Carolco Pictures" (quien financió el film) estaba pasando por un verdadero mal momento.
