People dont understand how important things like this are. There are so so few people keeping these arts alive..

This performance is a historically informed performance the vocalist uses period techniques such as prioritising smooth transitions, subtle vocal effects, nuanced dynamic shifts, and delicate ornamentation. She uses no glottal articulations or trills or altering effect. Bevan uses relaxed vibrato and has a more natural expressiveness which is typical of the Baroque period.

I want you to know that I applauded at my screen after it ended. I know that you can't hear it, but the tears streaming down my face compelled my hands to move anyway.

The dynamic range or the recording seems a bit narrow, like they recorded at a low mic volume to cut out the noise floor instead of just removing it digitally or using a Dolby system. Excellent performance and great dynamics from both the performers. IT just needs some engineering to make it sound like it did live.

I absolutely love this piece, but it seems that the vocalist used a very modern approach to this piece rather than a historic one. No trillo or any glottal articulations, along with a lack of changing affect and modern use of vibrato. I’m Kind of sad that the performance wasn’t historic considering the YouTube channel, orchestra, and ideology that seems to be represented.

I liked it The clothes are not a worry . It' s a work in progress .They are still glued to the music stand and the recording is not professional. The singer and instrumentalist are great.

Should this not be sung by a counter tenor?
