Could have been a 1 minute video. "Raise taxes to 100% for a month, then lower them back down."

The best solution is to disable those silly taxes at the new game menu and w8 for a balancing patch:)

Only issues ive had with this game is exporting goods. My traders never make much money, I have trade routes and 100s of resources but it never seems to go down any suggestions?

Also the kings tax is the only thing honestly frustrating me, It goes up far too quickly and because my traders dont seem to trade very well I dont make the money.

The only way I solved it, was to give bandits one place, and I kept raiding them...

With the current way the tax is implemented, I simply avoid the tax for as long as possible. I keep my development level at small village and just build up my region wealth through raw trading. Only worth taxing the people once the local wealth is substantial. Say around 1-2k wealth could be good to start dipping into it. Just remember that the higher the level the city, the more it will cost for EVERYONE in it! Either keep the population low and make a high level city, or keep the city level low and go as big as you want pop wise. Paying zero for the tax each year does feel super good, even if it's at the cost of being more developed or fancy.

I started a game earlier today and I'm up to 1900 a year now and i tax or sell enough to make that much. my regional wealth is like 300 to 400 most at any given time. I'm mporting ale because my guys husk the barley instead of using it to make malt and I can't grow anything in my starting plot I can't get an army to take over more plots because the defender gets 8 groups (roughly 400) and I haven't had any mercenaries in years (in game) and only have about 100 men to use.

I realised that I needed tresury wealth when I wanted to expand into neighbouring provinces. At this point I was 2000 in debt to the Royal Treasury. I have a pop of 250 so I've cranked the tax up to 40% and approval is hovering at around 60% now with all people fed and happy. I don't know what the point is that the people start moving out? Perhaps raise the tax slowly until you see someone leave then dial it back? I'm experimenting with it. Will update.

I am greatly interested in your market's location. Was that its initial place? Surely not! And, why does it seem to be working? lol (Subscribed)

About the tax, I give the first bandit's loot to the village, and take all the rest for my treasury. I go for every bandit camp, even if the Baron sends his mercs for them. I usually can get the loot, even when the mercs get to the bandits first. I just steal a march and go right for the actual camp, for the loot. Lord help me if the bandits don't spawn often.

Ah ha……I also have this issue, wonder what happens if you just ignore the taxes?
