Lesson Nine | A Virtuous People is Necessary for Good Government

While separation of powers provides the great institutional restraint on government, the Founders understood that the perpetuation of free government ultimately depends upon a virtuous people. Experience and history has proved that a people will either be virtuous and free or corrupt and ruled.

How can we fix a country which has no Declaration of Independence, and a Constitution with 416 pages of pure nonsense? We have too many rights and no duties. If people are to be free, they're going to need to be moral and industrious. Liberty ultimately requires self-responsibility. If a free people can't govern their own lives, then they will need help from a higher authority, and cease being free in the process.

As a blessed Christian, I'm sad to see educators leave out of their history lessons what the forefathers acted and planned for Native Americans, Asians, Blacks, etc. That's fine, it's ultimately the responsibility of all nationalities to teach their own and the WORLD what actually transpired and not rely on educators as we had in the past.
