Spiritual perception can be defined as the ability to resonate more fully with reality, and thereby see the more that surrounds us. Who we are as persons therefore matters. In this talk, Mark Vernon explores how virtue traditions tackle the personal habits and characteristics that can constrain, or open, our receptivity to life. It’s not about doing the right thing, but rather about enabling perception.

Thank you Mark, this video is a gem!.. and a great reminder in these times. The moral/virtue juxtaposition feels very much related to the difference in the left/right hemispheres ways of attending. Rules vs ways of being.

Thanks Mark
What of the pitfalls of being virtuous?
Do-gooders are the thieves of virtue, potentially ego centric, spiritual one up manship.
Perhaps like Aristotles archer, one should allow virtue to merely fly swiftly , accurately, silently
and anonymously, and then clear off, before someone gives you a medal. Or worse you award yourself a medal.
To think of oneself as being virtuous is to destroy virtue.
Oh dear. Double bind time.
Help!
