Do you ever just listen to a song that breaks your heart into 8 different pieces? because this is it this is that song.

I know the song is supposed to be a story for Conor’s parents to help console them but GOSH does it ever break my heart. This is the friendship Evan had always wanted and dreamed of and it just shATTERS mE.

It is such a beautifully written song as well. I absolutely love how bare the first verse is. I love that vulnerability and the rawness. It’s just a super well written song and I really enjoyed singing all 4 minutes of it. I don’t think I give myself enough opportunities to sing such emotionally raw songs like this. I’m sure some of you have noticed to running theme of emotionally intense covers the past month (ignoring DuckTales), but I wanted to challenge myself a little bit and I am very happy with how everything came out!

August will be a lot more uplifting and fun, I promise! I’m working on someone Disney, Steven Universe and I’ll even be re-covering some of my older stuff!

I like how, even though its really obvious, it was never mentioned how the accident that broke Evan’s hand was his own failed suicide attempt.

It’s a beautiful sentiment to see Evan live through the consequences of suicide, granting him the realization that he shouldn’t do it himself.

Its beautiful and depressing and makes me cry.

Ik what this song is really about but just think about it..

what if, even tho hes singing about a friendship that never actually happened, what if hes singing abt his dream friendship as well? We know evan has anxiety, so its harder for him to actually talk to ppl and make friends but when you actually listen to it w/ context, it sounds like hes describing the friendship he never had.
