In this clip, DJ Vlad asks Neil deGrasse Tyson a very compelling question about the existence of a soul in a human being. To that, the renowned science commentator refers DJ Vlad to a German engineer who invented X-Rays in 1895 named W.C. Röntgen, before indicating that even when people tried to search for proof that a soul exited a person's body before they died, no such evidence exists. From there, Neil explains that the foundation for the functionality of a human beings are the electrical chemical synapses running through their brains.

Souls use the brain/body as a tool for expression in the physical world. If the controller to a video game is broken, it doesn't mean the player doesn't exist.

Your soul is your energy. I can’t explain it but if you kno than you will understand. If you have ever seen someone die you can automatically see that the energy that is them is not there. A dead body from non traumatic death instantly shows that person is not in there anymore. There is literally no energy coming from the body.

Scientists are wired to look for scientific proof of everything. They'll never admit that some things in this life just can't be explained. I respect how he never says that he doesn't believe. He just says that he's never seen proof.
