we currently import coal from abroad, when Britain is practically made of coal. our own coal has got to be more environmentally friendly than the millions of gallons of diesel used in shipping it from across the seas.

Yes to more coal! The Germans and Chinese and many more still use it! The shipment of wood from Canadian forests transporting it to fuel dead is plain crazy, wood is also less efficient in burning!!
