Passing the CompTIA A+ 1001 and 1002

If anyone is looking for more study material, Jason Dion has a course on Udemy as well. He covers exam strategies and how to think differently for CompTIA's tricky wording. Also included is 2 full practice exams. He also goes through how to answer PBQ's! He only has a course for 202-1001 at the moment though.. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for this info Logan! This is a 'late in life' 2nd career and I failed the A+ 1001 for the 2nd time yesterday even though I studied my butt off. I watched and took detailed notes from Prof. Messer's videos, and they are great, but your comment regarding them not giving the "scenarios within the questions" is spot on and those "scenarios" are eating my lunch. It sounds like the Udemy-Total Seminars may be the next logical step for me. Thanks again...and any comments and/or suggestions from you or your followers are greatly appreciated!

Great video I passed 1001 and im currently studying for 1002 but I’ve been getting 65% to 70% on the practice exams I think I’ll be ready in about a month

I just passed core 1 1001 and I HIGHLY recommend Professor Messer for terms and understanding of the objectives, I HIGHLY recommend Mike Myers because of his scenario questions and Jason Dion for his performance Base Questions and I would recommend using Sybex study guide and practice test book it is VERY informative and gives u a clear understanding how things work.

Make labs at home
read the book
study practice exams
write down the questions and go over them on index card or notepad

Would strongly recommend Jason Dion! I took the 1001 & 1002 one on Saturday and the next on Sunday and passed, most of the questions was on the Jason Dion practice exam

I'm planning on taking my a+ soon and i've been studying watching professor messer videos on youtube a lot. I also, watch the cisco practice exams that post questions and answers for the A+ 1001/2 exams to better myself with the questions for the test. I think i'm good enough this exam but i believe i can practice more to be more comfortable with the questions more. Overall, i appreciate this video you made because i was thinking it was mostly multiple choice but i assume it's more common sense for questions CompTia wants you answer than what you think the answer is. I hope your IT career is going well and hope you make it to the top. I hope i can pass these tests lol.

Congrats! and thanks for sharing your results. I passed mine on the 28th Aug 2019. I used exactly the same study materials. I also had Mike Bigger on the Learning Portal. he is good but rambles on about his own life experiences too often and makes every single video almost 25-30 mins. Prof. Messer gets straight to the point and tells you what you need to know. i am also short for time and glad I picked up messer`s videos. Did you also find some of Mike Meyer`s Total Seminars grammar very difficult to understand and they made mistakes on the RAM sizes on some of the questions. I think one question was ...Dave upgrades his ram with 4 sticks of memory and now has I was like okay?!?!?! WTF?!

Totally agree. Professor Messer's practice test and videos are very different from what you'll see on the test..I recommend Udemy as well! One last thing understand Troubleshooting Principals for every objective on 1001

Hey so I was wondering if you found a lot of PBQ’s on exam? Is that what you mean by scenarios? I imagine the scenarios are the wordy questions “what would you do if ____” types. But the PBQ’s are what I’m worried about. I actually paid for totalSem’s PBQ test prep for core I and II.
