Everywhere I go, LITERALLY everywhere I go there are days where the sky looks amazing. I bet Jon would lose his mind if he saw clouds like mammatus types.

I'm just still so baffled that John's biggest gripe with the original lion king is that it wasn't realistic enough? Who watches an animated movie with talking and singing lions and thinks yeah but this would be better if it was more like a documentary

Jon, those beautiful skies are still possible in nature, especially on an African savanna far from human population. Even if it were rare, it’s not like it’s impossible. Bro’s out here acting like a clear sky is equivalent to three suns being in the background.

Dude realism is so pog I love when fictional worlds look exactly like reality, I love when a medium that can provide me with experiences I could never have in real life is used to provide experiences I easily could, that's the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning, knowing that I could watch a movie or play a game and get to look at things I've already seen before.

I thought the whole point of the sky looking like that in the original Lion King was to show a sort of divine celebration, like even the gods are happy for this momentous occasion.

He’s clearly dedicated to realism guys. After all he made sure Rafiki didn’t use a stick until the fight scene at the end and didn’t give Scar a dark mane as that would imply he’s strong (which means Mufasa probably should have had a darker one)
