Endometriosis Breakthrough?! #women.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, causing pain, inflammation, and sometimes infertility. Recent research has suggested a potential link between endometriosis and the presence of Fusobacterium, a type of bacteria commonly found in the mouth and gastrointestinal tract.

Bacterial Presence: Fusobacterium species are anaerobic bacteria that can migrate from their usual habitats in the mouth and gut to other parts of the body. Studies have found higher concentrations of Fusobacterium in the pelvic cavities and endometrial tissues of women with endometriosis compared to those without the condition.

Inflammation and Immune Response: Fusobacterium is known to induce strong inflammatory responses. In the context of endometriosis, the presence of this bacteria may exacerbate inflammation in the pelvic region. This heightened inflammatory response can worsen the symptoms of endometriosis, such as pelvic pain and swelling.

Tissue Invasion and Adhesion: Fusobacterium has properties that allow it to adhere to and invade tissues. This characteristic could potentially facilitate the spread of endometrial cells outside the uterus, contributing to the formation and growth of endometriotic lesions. The bacteria’s ability to disrupt normal tissue barriers might also play a role in the development and persistence of these lesions.

10% of women is such a huge amount for how little information there is on how it occurs, i hope with this research it can help bring us closer to finding a treatment or even cure ❤❤

Given how hard it is to get diagnosed, 10% seems WAY too low

10% of women, means that 5% of the worlds population right now suffer from, or will suffer from this. That is 400 million women (and young girls=future women).

It takes an average of 7 YEARS to get a diagnosis of endometriosis. That makes 10% a low and somewhat vague number. There's millions of girls and women suffering with no treatment or diagnosis.

Thank you for sharing. This disease has taken my life away but it’s the doctors and surgeons that almost killed me (ignored bowel perforation abdominal sepsis) and destroyed me mentally by telling me it’s in my head over and over again while I was in unbearable nerve pain 24/7. I ended up with severe nerve lesions not being able to walk, sit, stand anymore, a colostomy and 18 years of bowel problems. I always hoped so much a cause would be found and that leading to a possible cure. It’s too late for me but I still have this hope for younger generations and will continue to speak up in order to save other women from the ordeal I had and am still going through. I’ve been donating to research on Endometriosis for over 20 years and encourage everyone to do so.

10%! Wow. I have 2 relatives that would have definitely chose antibiotics over debilitating pain for decades and ultimately getting hysterectomies.

Really hope this is the start of a cure for this Sh*t. Had it for 12 years now and it have only gotten worse through the years.

The fact that we have cured multiple kinds of cancer but we haven’t even begun to figure out what causes women immense pain on a monthly basis that they just have to live and work with- that can cause them to become infertile- is absolutely wild. We haven’t cured endometriosis, we haven’t done anything to prevent it, the treatment is still invasive surgery, and in 2024 we’re just finding the cause. Thats shameful. Honestly that is shameful.

That might be such a big thing for the many women suffering. I hope it works. ❤

I feel like 10% is a really low estimate considering how many people ive known that have it. Im sure it medical providers actually diagnosed their patients and actually listened to them the number would be a lot higher.

The study is available online to read and articles about the findings have been out since 2023. The bacteria causes periodontal disease and infections of the head and neck. The antibiotics are already available, so human trials of the combination were able to get underway very quickly. If I was suffering I would ask for the antibiotics to treat the bacteria, and to hell with waiting for big pharma to create a combination drug that will cost a fortune.

As a young woman with endo born from mother with endo, I thank these researchers and you for informing us. Hopefully this will help us in the future

I heard of a woman in Australia who was losing 3 weeks out of 4 to this condition. She was trying desperately to get a hysterectomy but guess what? Doctors wanted to preserve her fertility. She didn't, she wanted to live a life worth living😕. She had to pretend that she 'identified' as a man to get the surgery! Sisters: we have no rights, no bodily autonomy ☹️

Source: Arielle Scarcella interviewed her a couple of years ago.

Already got 2 shots in my toosh putting me in menopause for 6 months to try and stop the stage 4 endo from spreading through my bowels and bladder even more after 3 rounds of removal surgery. If it doesn’t work i will gladly sign up to be a test subject for this.

This is a HUGE deal! I’m so happy to hear they are actually researching this. Even if it doesn’t lead to a total cure, it sounds like a significant treatment could be on the horizon 🎉

This reminds me of the study on stomach ulcers, where previously everyone thought they were caused by stress and could be a debilitating condition, due to the efforts of one doctor it was proven it was E coli and can now be treated with a simple dose of antibiotics. I really hope we have this breakthrough sooner than later as it could be miraculous for so many of those with endometriosis

🙋‍♀️how can I sign up for the trials.

With this pain at the moment, I would also sign up for everything and probably sell my souls for painless nights.

I had to have a complete hysterectomy at a young age because of endometriosis. I'd miscarried once and otherwise couldn't get pregnant. I really hope this research continues and helps women around the world!
