Is Persona 4 Worth it in 2024?

Welcome back everyone, today we're doing another RPG review! Persona 4 Golden launches on Switch, Xbox and PlayStation and I'm here to let you know if I think its worth it or not. I've played this game many times so I know quite a bit about it. Hope you enjoy!

Best persona game for me so far. Persona 5 had the style, but Persona 4 had better substance. It's just more personable, and the friendship formed with the kids is believable and precious.

Persona 4 is a huge step up in the franchise. It is my all time favorite Persona game.

It's incredible that they made the game in only two years. True, all the personas are reused assets, but the npcs, the town, the writing the dungeon design, the soundtrack, the ui are all new. The game doesn't even feel rushed.

Persona 4 is honestly my favorite game of all time. As you mentioned, every character feels like an actual person but it's almost perfect in my eyes and only thing that is really jarring for me are the dungeons simply because they feel like the same thing but with 1 difference and that's about it like for the first three dungeons its roughly the same thing until the two after where the minecraft one as you mentioned has one floor that teleports you around and a single key item to fight the boss, but because its only the one floor that does something different I would have liked to see the key item split across the floors with a different challenge or at least the same one that gets progressively tougher one as you go along and as for the one after that I don't have many complaints on it but its the final dungeon of the game that just turns into the first three again but it just forces you to go through it in one go which some people already do sometimes and it just feels lackluster for a grande finale but that's not to say that the dungeons are not unique or not pretty, I just think that there could have been more to add than just get to the top but with one challenge every so often.

Same here man, I love Persona 4 so much, it has an incredible set of of features that complement each other so well to present a unique, lovable and memorable experience.

I actually finished this game for the first time this week and saw the true end. Even though I knew about one of the major plot points in the story beforehand it still didn't subtract from how hard this game hits. Easily one of my top games of all time now. The game truly is golden.

just finished the game yesterday for the first time. my first intro to smt/persona was p5 and I have to admit after finishing p4, it's really really hard to choose which one I like better. can't wait for p3 reload. I'll definitely be getting that day one.

I had a very good time with this game. I like the small town feel to it compared to how busy and bustling P5R is. There’s a real intimate atmosphere.

The dungeon with the Pixel ascetic was supposedly a reference to the game 3d Dot Game Heroes which was in development at the same time as Persona 4 you should think about checking it out sometime the game is a huge love letter to Dragon Quest and The Legend of Zelda.

If you don’t like the gameplay but want to experience the story, there’s a super easy alternative: Persona 4 The Animation. It’s an anime adaptation of the game, some points I honestly believe are much better in the show than the game (specifically December 3rd, iykyk). I recommend watching the dub, since it has the entire games cast and this cast is incredible, knowing the dub has Johnny Young Bosch, Yuri Lowenthal and Troy Baker (who would later be replaced with Matthew Mercer) among many more, would make the dub more worth watching than the sub

only reason I haven't played it yet is just cause of thee graphics diff between this and p5r and p3r. But this def convinced me to give it a try after I'm done with these playthroughs

Had to comment, the uncle in P4 isn't abusive or an alcoholic. There is one scene where he got drunk which definitely doesn't make someone an alcoholic. Do you have a personal issue with liquor or something? Most adults drink I don't because it's disgusting but nothing wrong with those who do on occasion.

Picked it up for switch and I'm enjoying it.
