You've got me 10 year old daughter watching now and she's the one who got me into goats. You see I'm a horse person and when I bought her a goat for her 5th birthday that was it. Now she wants a Nigerian dwarf. We have mostly Boers and Nubians

Thank you so much for this video! I'm new to owning dairy goats and the one I have has small teats. I couldn't find a video with goats with small teats and I was having a hard time getting milk the first time, until I found this video. I got way more milk the next time I milked her!!!

I'll be up front. I grew up on dairy ( cow ) farms so I'll probably be coming at you with questions that you may not normally get.
I've nothing against goats, or goats milk.
Unlike plant juices marketed as milk. I'm looking at you Soy and Almond "milk"... lol

Do your goats have a strong "let down" response as you're prepping them to be milked?
We had a cow when I was growing up that would start leaking milk when she heard the vacuum pump get turned on. Dad would have one if us boys standing beside her ready to wash her, strip her out and get a milker on her.
How easily can goats get mastitis?
Is it as bad as with cows?
Do you keeps the kids on their dams? If so, how long?
Do you notice a large production drop if/when you wean a kid?
How long is the typical length of lactation for a goat?
What's the desired kidding interval?
What do you do with the milk that your family doesn't drink?
Is there such a thing as butter from goat's milk? I ask, cos I've heard of goat milk cheese, goat milk ice cream, goat milk yoghurt and goat milk soap, but not goat milk butter.
