Ethanol in gasoline is hygroscopic, which means it pulls water out of the atmosphere and over time, the water separates from the ethanol/gas mixture. This is called phase separation, and it ruins your fuel system.

Ethanol doesn't buildup in the tank ethanol is already in the gasoline and it degrades into water because ethanol attracts water and bonds with water

Always use Premium no ethanol gas in your bikes, especially if it's going to be sitting for a long time. Ethanol destroys gas lines and carburetors. My Dad had a chainsaw in the shed that he forgot about for about 3 years. He went looking in the shed for something and found it. The chainsaw fired up in a couple of pulls. I recommend using No Ethanol gas in lawn equipment as well since most of them are still carbureted, it'll save you money and time.

If you got a rug put it on that to keep it off the cold hard ground.😂 believe me, the bike doesn't mind bring on the cold hard ground. You put it on stands to prevent flat spots being formed from sitting in one spot for so long. So if you don't have stands..just move it a few inches every so often.

Ethanol can absorb moisture that's why I run 90 no ethanol for my drz .But not every gas station has it tho and Deffinetly fuel treatment

Great tips. I try to avoid most of thee issues by riding. 50° or more and I'm hitting the pavement. Only back roads so I don't ride as fast to cause that serious windchill!

Better tip don't use ethanol fuel ever eats the fuel lines one-hundred-percent 93 octane and occasionally a couple gallons of 110 on top of that

Or just disconnect the battery completely and charge it inside if you want. I just get a new one every season since i have warranty. Aka 100% free!!

Or you could ride throughout the winter.... orrr you can fill the tank with high octane as it stays good for longer.
